They would also smash eggs found a few day prior to the gathering, in order to make sure that fresh one's were being sold.
On June 23, 2000, when a tanker MV Treasure sank between Robben Island and Dassen Island, South Africa. The oil killed 19,000 adults penguins ready for breeding season on record. The oiled birds were brought to an abandoned train repair warehouse in Cape Town. 19,500 un-oiled penguins were moved from Dasson Island to east Cape Town to near Port Elizabeth.
How Can We Help African Penguins Survive?
We can help African Penguins by perserving the poplation. We could find shelters or relocate the penguins. Another way to help would be to take their eggs during breeding season and raising them in captivity. We could find something else for the people in Africa to eat because they are also killing the population by taking their eggs. Another thing we could is put some of the penguins in zoo for people see what is happing to the different types of penguins and to help rebuild the population.
As for the tanker carrying oil, We could find a different way to transport oil a cross the land, then using water. We could also build safer boats that won't polute the water and endanger all the animals in the water. All oil tanker should have some kind of device that could trap the oil until they clean it up. We could make some kind of vacuum that is big enough to fit alt of water,oil and not tip the boat over. They could us the vacuum to clean up the oil before it can kill any spiceis in the water. We coud make a net that doesn't have any holes and is big enough to fit alot of water and oil. We could us the net to trap all of the oil in to the bag and then still ship it to the place the place it needs to go to, but they would have seperate the oil from the water.
